Monthly Update
August 2024

Howdy!!

As mentioned last month, our July was much less filled with travel.  That gave us a chance to worship with our Family Bible Church congregation on weekends and relax during the week.  Yeah, THAT part didn't happen.  As it turns out, our July was busy… both in ministry AND around the house.  Judy has been redecorating and making the Biddle Ministry Center a little more family friendly.  We're not quite ready, but we will have a way for people to reserve it in the near future.  Remember, our goal was always to offer people in ministry a place to stay for 3 nights as a little respite.

We're still in process with the potential new church in Elizabethtown, KY, and are praying that a solid core group could be established.  We have a meeting with our team on August 28 to discuss how we will move forward with the project.  Please ask God to give us all wisdom about this. We believe having a good (even if small) core group is vital for its success.

Last month, I mentioned our desire to do 2 Reality Check church analyses yet this year.  It's looks like at least one of those is in the works.  I'll be meeting with a group of church Elders in a couple weeks to present the idea.  Please pray that God would open the doors of ministry

We're gearing up for the Shepherd's 360 Conference in Cary, NC in October.  This will be a BIG deal for SCE.  This is deep in our ministry field territory, and there will be many pastors and church leaders in attendance.  These are the people who we hope to serve in the areas of facilitating the spiritual growth and Biblical reproduction of churches.  I'm reworking most of our printed material and display presentation items.  It's a huge and expensive project… please pray that God will be honored by it.

As I write this note on August 14, I'm reminded that today is the 10th anniversary of the beginning of SCE.  On August 14, 2014, some pastors and I met in Harriman, Tennessee to establish a Board of Directors and adopt a constitution.  God has been good, and I'm just as excited now as I was then.  Please continue to pray for us as we seek to serve Christ by serving churches in the south.

Our project for supplying book bags at the Caring for Caregivers Symposiums still need financial support.  If you're interested, please include a note with your donation, and we'll see that 100% of it is used for that purpose.

Our monthly prayer calendar is now up and running online.  Go to www.southeastchurches.org and click on the 'PRAY FOR US' button to see a printable and interactive prayer calendar.  The prayer of God's people is what makes our ministry possible… please pray.

Southeast Church Extension is a faith ministry that relies solely on contributions from God's people.  Would YOU consider helping us?  We also ask for opportunities to share our story and burden for healthy churches to Missions Committees, Sunday School classes and congregations.  PLEASE contact us to schedule a meeting.  Donations may be made online at www.southeastchurches.org or by returning the donation card to us with your much appreciated gift.
